Almaguer Earns Singles Victory At #1 As Women's Tennis Falls 6-1 To New Mexico State

Las Vegas, NV - The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team played its second match in as many games Saturday, falling 6-1 to New Mexico State.

Freshman Jasmine Almaguer improved to 3-2 on the year at #1 dual singles, defeating Ros-Polly Nguyen, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8 to earn the Highlanders lone point of the day.

"Jasmine is playing some really good tennis," Head Coach Mark Henry stated. "She is off to a great start in her first season."

UC Riverside remains in Las Vegas for a 10 am PT contest against #58 UNLV on Sunday.
