GAME NOTES
TURNAROUND
After opening the season with a 1-6 record, the Highlanders have since gone 8-3.
26.2
The Highlanders lost a 10-inning, three hour 29 minute marathan on March 3 against Loyola Chicago. It is the most innings played for UCR since an 11-inning affair at Cal State Northridge on May 8, 2011.
DOUBLE-DIGIT AFFAIRS
UCR scored 15 runs and banged out 12 hits in its 15-10 win over Bakersfield on February 22. It is the most runs scored since a 16-run outburst against Eastern Kentucky on March 7, 2012, and the most hits tallied since putting up 16 against Idaho State on March 4, 2011.
ONE RUN GAMES
UC Riverside lost three of its eight games this season by just one run. Last year, the Highlanders lost four games by one run, but defeated seven opponents by the same margin.
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR
The Highlanders shut out Sacramento State, 1-0, on February 16—the team's first shutout since an 8-0 victory over Cal Poly on April 27, 2013. UCR now has three shutouts on the year. The program Division I record for most shutouts in a season in seven, set in 2008.
THREE'S COMPANY
UC Riverside won three games in a row twice this season for the first time since a six-game win streak from March 10-13, 2013. That streak is the longest in the program's Division I history, besting the previous high of five, set on multiple occasions most recently during the 2012 season.
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
The Highlanders stole 90 bases last season, setting the program Division I record in the process. UCR ended the season ranked 28th in the nation in stolen bases per game, with graduated senior Ariel Shore ranking 58th individually in that category, and Dionne Anderson ranking 77th.
This year, the Highlanders have 28 stolen bases in 18 games, with Anderson leading the team with 18.
STOP, THIEF!
UCR stole nine bases against Southern Utah on March 11, 2013, setting the program's Division I record for most stolen bases in a single game. Anderson added her name to the UCR record books as she stole four bases that game—the most in a single game in the program's DI history.
TERESTRIAL LOCOMOTION
Nine of UC Riverside's 2013 opponents scored 10 or more runs, which is four more than the 2012 total, and the most in the team's Division I history. This season, UCR has given up 10 or more runs three times.
THE END OF AN ERA
UCR's pitching corps had a 5.04 ERA last season, making it the third-highest ERA in program DI history (5.60, 2011; 5.07, 2003). This season, the Highlanders ERA is down to 3.68.
BREAKING RECORDS
UCR finished the 2012 season with a 25-28 overall record, setting a new program Division I mark for most wins in a season and for best winning percentage.

UCR won six games in 2012 by the eight-run mercy-rule—the most times in the program's DI history. Last season, they won four games by the mercy rule, but were mercy ruled 10 times by opponents. This season, the Highlanders have been mercy-ruled twice.
ALL-BIG WEST
UC Riverside placed one player on the Big West All-Conference Team last season, with outfielder Kayla White garnering her third-career All-Big West First-Team award. White led the Big West Conference in batting average and triples while ranking second in slugging percentage, hits, and total bases, fourth in stolen bases, fifth in home runs, seventh in runs, and ninth in on base percentage.
