Los Angeles, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team took on the #1 ranked team in the nation Monday afternoon putting a scare into the Trojans before dropping a 6-1 decision.

The Highlanders took the doubles point as Luis Gaståo and Sean Robles topped David Laser and Tanner Smith at No. 3, 6-2, and Michael Carella and Calvin Ngo teamed up at No. 2 to top Rob Bellamy and Thibault Foget, 6-4.

Hans Baumstark nearly picked up the win at No. 6 Singles for the Highlanders, but fell, 7-5, 6-4. The Trojans won each of the remaining five singles matches to secure the victory.

UC Riverside travels to Tucson, Arizona this Saturday to take on Arizona beginning at 10 am PT.
