Chuck: We then met the basketball coach who asked Eleanor to be a member of the board.
Eleanor: We joined the UCR Athletics Association because it's local and helps us get more involved in the community. We enjoy sporting events.
Chuck: The coaches and student athletes work hard to compete and win and we wanted to do what we could to help them achieve their goals.
Eleanor: Our vision for Highlanders Athletics is to be competitive in the Big West Conference and from there win some championships.
Chuck: We want to see student-athletes graduate and take what they have learned on the court/field and in the classroom and apply it to their careers and daily life.
Eleanor: It is important for us to support Highlander Athletics because student-athletes will be our leaders for tomorrow. Athletics is often an introduction to a university as a whole.
Chuck: Athletics builds a culture for the university and the surrounding community. We are proud to attend UCR events and spread the word to our friends and acquaintances.
