Riverside—Jaylen Bland drained a three-pointer on the Highlanders' first possession Sunday evening, and the UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team led wire to wire, posting a 95-48 victory over Life Pacific. It was the second consecutive game for UCR in which they never trailed, and helped the Highlanders improve to 7-5 on the season.
All 13 eligible players on the UC Riverside roster saw action in the game and everybody scored, as none of the Highlanders' five starters played more than 13 minutes.
DJ Sylvester established career highs with 20 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Bland added 17 points despite being on the floor for just a Baker's Dozen. Eric Rwahwire (6 points) and Koh Flippin (4) also recorded career-highs.
The 47-point difference was the largest margin of victory for the year for the Highlanders, who last won a game by a larger margin back on November 23, 2014 in a 102-49 win over Saint Katherine.
UC Riverside has one more game before taking a break for the holidays as the Highlanders host Denver on Tuesday for a 7 pm PT tip against the Pioneers.
