Women's Tennis Falls To Cal Poly, 4-0 In Big West First Round

Indian Wells—The #9 seeded UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team concluded its 2015 season Thursday morning with a 4-0 loss to #8 seed Cal Poly in the first round of the Big West Conference Championship at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

In doubles action, the Mustangs claimed the first point of the match with an 8-1 and 8-0 win at numbers one and three.

In singles, Cal Poly won matches in the middle flights to secure the sweep. Molly Reed defeated Karla Dulay 6-1, 6-2 at number three while Hannah Stone earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Caroline Hall at number three, and Zoe Oedekerk defeated Tamilla Vaksman 6-1, 6-0 at #5.

The other three matches went unfinished once Cal Poly earned enough points for the win.

The Highlanders conclude their season with an 4-18 record while the Mustangs move on to play #1 seeded Long Beach State on Friday, April 24 in the Big West Championship quarterfinals.
