Van/Wolfe And Dulay Advance To Second Round Of Beach Fall Tournament

Long Beach—The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team got victories from the Karla Dulay in singles play, and the doubles team of Tracy Van and Lauren Wolfe in the first round of the Beach Fall Tournament Friday.
Dulay will face Long Beach State's Maren Halgo, after edging Sarah Baklini of GCU in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5. The doubles tandem of Van and freshman Wolfe got past Big West rival CSUN's Kim/Udagwa, 6-4 and were knocked off by Portalnd State's Dobell/Partington in the second round, 3-6.
Tamila Vaksman and Dulay were defeated in their opneing match, 3-6, but picked up a victory in the consilation bracket to advance to tomorrow's semifinals at 9 am. Kassie Truong and freshman Nicole Hitomi also rebounded from an opening match loss to win their consilation match and advance to the semis in B flight doubles, also at 9 am.
The second round and semifinal matches in the singles bracket take place Saturday, and the championship/consolation finals are set for Sunday morning. Admission to the Rhodes Tennis Center is free.
