Women's Golf Climbs To 10th On Day Two Of The Ron Moore Intercollegiate

Highlands Ranch, CO—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team climbed to 10th on day two of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.

Sophomore transfer Hana Furuichi had her first par or better round for the Highlanders, and is tied for 37th after a second round that included four birdies (round 2 results). Jakeishya Le tops the UCR leaderboard in a tie for 17th for the tournament at +4.

Pepperdine's Hira Naved shares the overall lead at -4 with Denver's Sophie Newlove,who is just a single stroke ahead teammate Mariel Bruun.Â
The Highlanders shot the third-best team round of the day (294) to move up three spots into 10th, after starting the day tied for 13th. UC Riverside is just five strokes back of breaking into the top-5.
"I'm super proud of these girls. We played really great on some key holes, and I think we'll do even better tomorrow.", said Head Coach Mary Ritchie of today's second round.
The team lead still belongs to Pepperdine at -6. Event hosts Denver are second at -2, and Nebraska is third at +12.
Tomorrows final round gets underway at 8:00 am PT for the Highlanders off holes 8-11 (pairings).
