Women's Tennis Suffers, 6-1, Defeat At Cal Poly

San Luis Obispo— In the first of two Big West matches on the California coast this weekend, the UC Riverside Women's Team was defeated, 6-1, at Cal Poly.

UCR (3-11, 0-5) got their only point of the match from Tracy Van, who battled back from a set down to win, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 over the Mustangs' Bryn Bacharach. Karla Dulay, Caroline Hall and Tamila Vaksman all stretched their matches to three sets. Dulay fell 6-4 in the final frame and Vaksman suffered a narrow defeat, 7-6.

Cal Poly (3-11, 1-4) took the first two doubles matches to finish at lines one and three, leaving the line two match unfinished. The Highlanders are back on the courts Sunday, when they take on UC Santa Barbara at 11 am.
