Riverside-The UC Riverside Athletics Department honored its students-athletes and their acheivements at the 2015-16 Scotty Awards on campus in HUB 302 Monday night. Men's Tennis player Kyle McCann was awarded Male Freshman of the Year.

McCann recorded 15 wins on the season, playing predominantly at number three singles. His 15 wins are the third most in the Highlanders' recorded history, and helped the team to its first winning record in more than two decades.
