UC Riverside Finishes Renovation of SRC Arena Floor

Riverside—The SRC Arena—home to the Highlanders' Volleyball and Men's & Women's Basketball Teams—received a makeover this summer, as the floor was stripped, sanded, and re-painted, making it the largest renovation of the floor since the SRC opened in 1994 (view photo gallery).
UC Riverside's primary interlocking UC logo now takes center stage, with the Scotty Highlander, bear head logo setting up shop just outside the three-point line, where the Highlanders Hoops teams have made a living over the past several years.
"There are a number of ways that we are elevating the profile of UC Riverside Athletics, and one of the most visible is upgrading and improving our athletics facilities through projects both big and small," explained Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tamica Smith Jones,
"As we come off of the most successful season in our Division I history, our student-athletes, coaches and fans deserve to experience UC Riverside athletics in the best venues with which we can provide them. I would like to thank Lindy Fenex and Mike Eason at the SRC, along with the SRC Facility Maintenance Staff, McWil Sports Surfaces, Inc. and Kourt Graphics for their work on this project."
"I can't wait to see how home court looks during our televised games as we plan to pack the stands for volleyball and basketball."
UC Riverside fans get their first opportunity to see the new floor in person on Wednesday, October 5 as the Highlanders' Volleyball Team hosts Long Beach State at 7 pm PT. If you can't make it out to a match this year, you can see the court on ESPNU on Friday, October 28 when the Highlanders host nationally-ranked Hawai'i at 8 pm.
