Gillis And Lutz Share Lead At -3, Men's Golf Ahead By Nine After Day One At The Roadrunner Invitational

Bakersfield—Sam Gillis and Matt Lutz share the individual lead at -3, while the Men's team is nine shots clear of the field after two rounds in the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunner Invitational.
Gillis matched his career-low with the four-under par 68 in round one. He followed that up with a one over par 73 in the afternoon round to finish -3 for the tournament, tied with teammate Matt Lutz.
Lutz followed-up his season opening par 72 in the morning session, with a three-under 69 to join Gillis in the lead at -3. Last season he shot eight rounds under par. (view player leaderboard)
The Highlanders will enter tomorrow's final round at +1, nine strokes ahead UT Rio Grande Valley, who finished day one at +10. Tournament host CSU Bakersfield (+35) are third and Menlo College (+55) is fourth. (view team leaderboard)
