Early Matador Goal Sinks Men's Soccer At CSUN

Northridge, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team (2-12-0, 2-5-0) held CSUN (8-6-2, 3-2-2) scoreless for the final 79 minutes in Wednesday night's match, but an early Matador goal was enough to hand the Highlanders a 1-0 loss.

MATCH NOTES
UC Riverside finished with four shots on goal, tied for its second-highest mark during conference play.

The Highlanders were able to put four of their seven shots on frame, tying a season-high with a .571 shot on goal percentage. That season-high was originally set when UCR put up identical shooting numbers in a 1-0 loss at Gonzaga back on September 1 (box score/recap).

Redshirt senior defender James Alewine III set a season-high with two shots.

Conceding just once on the night, the Highlander defense allowed the fewest goals in its last six contests away from home.
