Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball's Comeback Falls Just Short in 57-55 Loss To Visiting Pacific

Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team (2-4) fell behind by 17 midway through the second half, but battled back to tie the score at 46 with 10:26 to go in the game. The Highlanders were never able to take the lead, though, as the Pacific Tigers (4-4) escaped with a 57-55 victory.

KEY RUNS
Pacific started the game by scoring the first five points, eventually building a 17-point advantage 29-12. The Highlanders came back to tie the game at 46, but could never quite get over the hump. Ryker Pierce's three-pointer with three seconds remaining was just off the mark.

GAME NOTES
Dikymbe Martin scored a game-high 17 points, reaching double figures in scoring for the fourth time this season.

Martin's 20 field goal attempts are the most he has taken in a game as a collegian.

Martin entered the game making 88.2 percent of his free throws (15 for 17) on the season, and 85.1 percent for his career, but he missed all three of his shots vs. Pacific.

Martin's five steals were the most by a member of the Highlanders this year, and the most since he recorded six vs. Hawai'i on February 2, 2017.

Chance Murray reached double figures in scoring for the third time this year.

Murray drained his first three-pointer of the year after missing his first 20 to start the season.

Menno Dijkstra, who had one made three-pointer on the year entering the game, connected on a pair vs. Pacific.
