Riverside–The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team picked up a 6-1 win against Bucknell Monday morning, and was edged 4-3 by Gonzaga in the afternoon match on the SRC Tennis Courts.

In the first match of the day, the Highlanders snagged the doubles point with wins on line 1 by Tadeas Lanksy and Nabil Abdallah, 6-2, and Kyle McCann and Max Cohen by the same score on line 3.

McCann made quick work of the Bison's Andrei Vitiuc, 6-0, 6-1 in singles at the no. 2 position. Anderson Ju also prevailed in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Three set victories by Cooper Bridge on court no. 1 and Abdallah on line 4 in helping to secure the victory.

"Best team effort all-year long. The guys have realized what it takes to grind it out and take advantage of the opportunities they get." said Coach Johansson on the win.

Against Gonzaga in the afternoon match fell 4-3 to the Bulldogs. UC Riverside did scratch out three singles victories led by Bridge's three set, 6-4, 1-6, 10-4 victory at the no. 1 position.

The Highlanders hit the road for four matches in Arizona this week beginning Wednesday against GCU at 10 am.
