Durham, NC–The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team's match against North Carolina Central was initially delayed by five hours due to rain.
With the match in progress, the rain returned causing a one hour delay before the match was moved to the indoor courts on the campus of nearby Duke University, where UCR fell 4-3.
The Highlanders did swept the doubles matches for the third time on the trip. Cooper Bridge and Andy Ju made quick work of their line two opponents 6-2, followed by Tadeas Lanksy and Gilbert Chung getting by 6-4 on court no. 1 to claim the point.
NC Central prevailed in the first four singles matches to finish claiming two straight sets victories and hanging on in a pair three-setters for match victory.
"We suffered three 4-3 losses this week, and with a little luck, we could have won them all. We didn't deciding points in those losses, but we now know that we can play solid tennis team against anyone.: said Coach Johansson.
The team will resume play next Saturday at home against Redlands at 3 pm.
