Women's Golf Moves To 7th At The Red Rocks Led By Furuichi And Le With Second Round 71s

Day One Results
Sedona, AZ–The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team shook off an opening round 314 to combine for the best team-round of the tournament, a second round 292 in the Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club.
The 22 stroke round-over-round improvement helped move the Highlanders up the team leaderboard from 11th to 7th. Jakeishya Le holds the top position among the team members in a tie for 13th after shaving seven shots off her round one total (78) with a second round one-under par 71.
Hana Furuichi had the biggest round by round improvement, also firing a one-under 71, 11 strokes better than her first 18 holes (82). Freshman Hailey White, who is competing as an individual has been the most steady of the Highlanders with 74 and 75 in the first two rounds to land at +5 for the championship along with Le.
2017 Battle at the Rock medalist Sofia Anokhina of NAU holds the individual lead at -7 by one stroke over Genevieve Ling of Boise State. The Broncos hold a seven shot advantage over the host Lumberjacks heading tomorrow's final round, which is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 am PT.
