Las Vegas, NV– The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team fell to both UNLV and Colorado State, 4-0, in the Las Vegas.
The Rebels started out strong taking the doubles point by winning the no. 2 match, 6-0 and the no. 3 match, 6-1. The no.1 doubles match was left unfinished.
UNLV took the first, fourth, and fifth singles matches, leaving the other three matches unfinished en route to a 4-0 victory at Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The doubles tandem of Natalie Penner and Tamilla Vaksman picked up a win in line three action, 6-2 over Colorado State's Keta and Crawley. Lauren Wolfe battled back after dropping the first set, 6-1, to win 6-2 and led 5-1 in the third when play was stopped due to Rams amassing a match clinching four points.
Vaksman also recovered after losing the opening frame, 6-0, to take the second, 6-3, and was ahead 5-3 in set three when play was halted.
The Highlanders return to the SRC Tennis Courts Wednesday against South Dakota State for the first of three matches next wek at home.
