Riverside–The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team will recognize seniors Sophie El-Kara and Vijaypriya "VJ" Ganesan before Thursday's match against UC Irvine set to begin at 1:30 pm on the SRC Tennis Courts.
The Highlanders hosted two conference matches last week, when they fell UC Santa Barbara, 4-0, and to Cal Poly in a close a, 4-3, decision.
Tracy Van, Tamilla Waksman and Natalie Penner all picked up victories against the Mustangs. Van and Wolfe lead the team with five singles victories each, and a team-best 4-1 record when paired up.
UC Irvine enters the match with a 4-16 overall mark, and a 1-6 record in conference play.
Freshman Constance Branstine has played at the top of the lineup in both singles and doubles for the Anteaters. Branstine is also tied for the team lead in singles victories of 7 with fellow freshman Stephanie Nguyen.
In doubles Hali Dickson and Vivien Dvali have the hot hand for the Anteaters coming into the match on a four-match win streak and a 4-1 record in conference play.
The Highlanders will be looking for their first program win against UCI as the 'Eaters hold a 16-0 advantage in the series.
Saturday, UCR will visit Davis to make up a match with the Aggies that was cancelled due to weather.
