Riverside–The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team dropped their final regular season match of the season to Hawai'i 5-2. The loss drops the Highlanders to a 14-20 record on the year with a 0-5 mark in conference play. Hawaii improved to a 2-14 overall record and a 1-4 mark in conference play.
UCR dropped the doubles point, and lost the first three singles matches to clinch the match for the Warriors. Gilbert Chung got the Highlanders on the board with his 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 victory over Spencer Travalino at the no. 5 singles spot.
Andy Ju picked up the second point for the Highlanders with his 6-4, 6-3 victory over Ruben Blattner at the no. 6 singles spot.
The Highlanders will head to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the 2017 Big West Conference Tournament from Thursday April 27th to Sunday April 30th. Their first round match with the Cal Poly Mustangs at 9 am on Thursday.
