Indian Wells, CA–The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team's record breaking 14-win season came to a close with a, 4-0, loss to #50 nationally ranked Cal Poly in the Big West Championship quarterfinals.
The Highlanders got a victory from Nabil Abdullah and Anderson Ju in the no. 2 doubles match that evened the score at a match apiece.
The point was decided in the line one doubles match, where Cal Poly's Corey Pang and Ben Donovan got past Cooper Bridge and Gilbert Chung, 6-4.
In singles play, the Mustangs picked up straight sets victories at the no. 4, then no. 2 and no. 6 matches to advance, 4-0, to face UC Davis the semifinals on Friday.
For the second year in a row, Head Coach Mattias Johansson has broken the program record for regular season wins eclipsing 2016's 13 win mark with 14 victories.
Thursday's match was the final match for team captain and senior Cooper Bridge. He finishes his career with 30 singles victories, seventh all-time.
