Riverside—The UC Riverside Athletics Department held its annual end-of-year Scotty Awards on Thursday evening, and Men's Tennis player Gilbert Chung was named the SAAC Male Freshman of the Year.

Chung won a UC Riverside record 20 singles matches this season against just nine loses, setting the program record for victories in a season in the process. He also teamed with Cooper Bridge to earn All-Big West Honorable Mention accolades as a doubles team.
