New Orleans, LA – UC Riverside Athletics Director Tamica Smith Jones will be presenting as a special guest speaker at Dillard University this Saturday, February 3, in conjunction with National Girls & Women in Sports Day.

Jones will be one of a select group of established sports professionals in attendance, as Dillard gets set to launch its "So You Want A Career In Athletics" program.

"I am excited to share my journey in collegiate athletics and some of the amazing women I have had the opportunity to connect with over the years," said Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes, Dillard University's athletic director.

Dr. Barnes is Louisiana's only female college athletic director, and will host the event, which will feature a number of established sports professionals, including Dr. Tamica Smith Jones, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of California, Riverside...

After lunch and closing remarks, participants will have the opportunity to shadow Dr. Barnes to get a behind the scenes look at game day responsibilities for a college athletic director. The women's game (Dillard vs. Philander Smith College) is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. and participants will be acknowledged at halftime.
