
Jannon Otto Wins Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week

RIVERSIDE, Calif.—UC Riverside guard Jannon Otto won her first career Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week award on Monday thanks to a career-best scoring performance against New Mexico State.
In Friday's game against New Mexico State, in which the Highlanders won 65-64, Otto scored 23 points. Incredibly efficient, she went 8-for-10 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free throw line. The most important field goal proved to be a game-winning bucket with 1:47 left.
Otto has started all 13 games for the Highlanders and currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.7 points per game. She's also scored in double digits seven times this season.
Otto is the first Highlander to earn the honor since Simone DeCoud on Dec. 19, 2016.
