FULL MATCH RESULTS
Santa Barbara, CA — The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team (1-9) fell to conference opponent UC Santa Barbara (5-6) 4-0 Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders are now 0-3 in the Big West but have time to prepare before facing UC Davis mid-March.
The Highlanders got out to a slow start in doubles, but had a tight match on court three. The duo of seniors Tamilla Vaksman and Natalie Penner fought its way to a 3-3 tie, but were unable to finish as the Gauchos collected the doubles point.
In the singles round, freshman Tia Elpusan won the first set of the day for UCR as she took her the first set over Palina Dubavets 6-4. Unfortunately UCSB would grab three singles wins before Elpusan could finish out, and the Highlanders fell 4-0
UCR will now return home for eight straight matches at the Rec Center Courts. The Highlanders will host Villanova (1-3) this Saturday at 11:00 AM in Riverside, CA.
