RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UC Riverside Athletics Department will be hosting its monthly Coaches Show on Monday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Alice Trading Company Saloon & Eatery.
The UC Riverside Men's Basketball broadcast team, consisting of Inland Sports Radio Show hosts Pep Fernandez and Geoff Gorham, will welcome Head Baseball Coach and former World Series-winning Los Angeles Angel Troy Percival to the show, along with a pair of key starters in sophomore Connor Cannon and senior Cody Sporrer.
Cannon has gotten off to a fast start to the 2018 season, boasting a team-leading 10 RBI through 11 games. Second baseman Sporrer has been solid in the Highlanders' infield, ranking second in the team in assists (23) and third in hits (8).
After getting caught up on the start of baseball season, we'll switch gears to men's basketball, as Interim Head Coach Justin Bell will hit the stage to talk about this week's Big West Tournament. After winning four of seven games down the stretch to clinch the No. 8 seed in the tournament, the Highlanders are getting set to face No. 1 UC Davis this Thursday, Mar. 8 at noon at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
Coach Bell's interview will be followed up by a pair of seniors who recently helped lead the Highlanders to a win in their final home game at SRC Arena in Alex Larsson and Koh Flippin. At 119 career games played, Larsson enters Thursday's game tied with former Highlander Austin Quick (2011-15) for the program's all-time record.
The event will be live streamed on the
