RIVERSIDE, Calif.- Friday afternoon, the UC Riverside Softball Team (27-20, 4-9) fell 11-0 to Hawai'i (21-21, 5-8) in the first matchup of a three-game series.
The Rainbow Wahine got on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning and added runs in the 4th and 6th to take game one of the weekend.
Freshman pitcher Hailey Dolcini got the start for the Highlanders throwing four innings allowing two earned runs and striking out four. Senior Rebecca Faulkner made a relief appearance pitching the final two innings.
On the offensive end, junior Hannah Rodriguez and sophomore Emma Ramelot were bright spots adding hits for UCR.
The Highlanders and Rainbow Wahine are back in action tomorrow for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM at Amy S. Harrison Field. The program will be celebrating Alumni Day before first pitch.
