Highlanders Compete at Joe Piane Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The UC Riverside Men's and Women's Cross Country teams took to the course for the fourth time this season on Friday, competing at the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
The men claimed a 11th overall finish, recording a team score of 256. They were led by a 32nd-place finish from Jonathan Lee, who led the way with a time of 25:27.11. Arman Irani also finished in the top 50, taking 47th with a time of 25:49.39.
Jack Frimodig (26:01.23) and Justin Eipp (26:05.00) finished third and fourth on the team at 58th and 61st overall, respectively. Andres Delgado (26:08.66) finished in 64th. Antonio Carbajal (27:09.61) and Brandon Shields (27:39.64) rounded out the Highlanders' lineup.

On the women's side, the Highlanders took 14th overall with 328 points. Vanessa Gracian paced the team, recording a UCR-high mark of 18:40.38.
Haley Cabrera (18:59.04) was second on the team and 64th overall, while Alison Soto finished in 67th with a time of 19:01.32.

The teams will return home for their next meet at the Highlander Invitational on Oct. 13. It will be the second and final home meet of the season for the Highlanders.
