Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii.—The Highlanders could not find their first conference win of the season Friday night as the UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team fell 6-1 in a neutral site matchup with UC Irvine.
The Anteaters came out with a sense purpose in the doubles round claiming al three matches on their way to a 1-0 lead.
In singles play, junior
Gilbert Chung was the sole bright spot for the Highlanders continuing his dominance on court three this season. He defeated Mason Hansen in straight sets of 6-4, 6-4 to help his team avoid a shutout. Chung has now won 18 of his last 19 matches a court three singles.
Sophomore Fillip Engstrom made an appearance in singles play at court six but could not find his rhythm as the Eaters took the remaining five courts to earn a 6-1 win.
UCR will look to bounce back Sunday afternoon, as they take on host Hawaii.
