RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Sixty UC Riverside Student-Athletes can now call themselves Highlander Alumni after they walked the stage earlier today during the 2019 Student-Athlete Graduation ceremony at the Johnson Family Practice Center.
Â
Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Tamica Smith Jones, provided inspiring remarks to the 2019 graduating class before they were individually presented with their hard-earned and well-deserved student-athlete graduation sashes. This year's graduating class holds significant meaning for UCR's AD as this class entered its freshman year four years ago, the same year Smith Jones began her tenure leading the Highlanders Athletics program.
"Our graduating seniors have done an amazing job representing the University of California, Riverside and our Athletics program," said Tamica Smith Jones, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "We are incredibly proud of what this group has accomplished, both individually and collectively. We are looking forward to the positive impact they will make in their respective industries and communities and thank each for the memories and the contributions."
The members of the Highlander Athletics Graduating Class of 2019 earned degrees from 18 different majors.
