Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UC Riverside Highlanders women's tennis team played their second Big West match of the season February 21, hosting Long Beach State at the SRC tennis courts. We haven't seen the Women's tennis team in action since February 8 when they defeated UC San Diego 6-1 at home. The Highlanders would struggle to ignite on the courts and fall 5-0 to the Beach.
 
It was a dominant win by Long Beach State as they clinched in 5 winning matches and were leading the Highlanders in the two unfinished sets. The Beach would grab the doubles point with wins in the #2 and #3 flights. 
 
Hanh Pham, in the #4 spot, fought for a win but ultimately fell 6-2, 6-4 in what would be the closest a Highlander would come to winning a set against the Beach.
 
Head Coach Mark Henry said, "The team played hard but Long Beach played better." The Highlander's match on Saturday February 22 vs Cal State Fullerton has been postponed due to forecasted rain. The next match for UC Riverside is March 1, at home hosting Villanova University at 11:00 AM.
