NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Three of their four sets saw both teams go 20 points deep, with two sets extending beyond 25, as UC Riverside and CSUN went back and forth Friday night at The Matadome before the Highlanders were defeated, 18-25, 24-26, 27-25, 20-25.
The Highlanders (6-21, 2-15 Big West) were paced by 17 kills and 19 digs from
Amarachi Osuji, one of four student-athletes with 10 or more digs for UCR, which dropped its fourth straight.
Anya Green's .500 hitting percentage, with 12 kills on 20 swings, led UC Riverside as
Deja Bickers added 13 kills in the loss. The Matadors (6-21, 5-12 Big West) ended a three-match slide.
It will be an immediate turnaround for UCR to play at UC Santa Barbara Saturday at 7 p.m. before the Highlanders return to SRC Arena for a Thanksgiving Eve meeting Wednesday night, Nov. 24, vs. Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m.
The conclusion of the regular season is on Saturday, Nov. 27, with a 5 p.m. scheduled first serve at home against Long Beach State.
