Highlanders Drop Home Match to Gauchos

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Sunday afternoon's weather at the SRC Tennis Courts wasn't able to match the on-court play, as the Highlanders dropped a 1-6 decision to UC Santa Barbara.Â

Sofia Lazzaroni picked up her first win of the season and improved to 1-1 with a gritty 2-6, 7-5, 10-8 win over Marta Gonzalez Balbe.Â

Mahil Silpachai and Sydney Tran competed in their first singles matches since March 9's season opener at San Diego State. Silpachai pushed a second set before falling 5-7 on the number two line, while Tran fell 2-6, 4-6 on the number five line.Â

UCR returns to action on Saturday, April 3 at Cal State Fullerton and returns to the SRC Tennis Courts on Sunday, April 11 against CSUN.Â
