FRESNO, Calif. — Women's golf finished the Fresno State Classic in 12th place within the 15-team field Tuesday at Copper River Country Club.

The Highlanders shaved three strokes off their previous round to card a team 305 in the final round of the event, but did not move from their 12th spot after Monday's action.

Playing as an individual, Kate Villegas finished the tournament tied for 23rd after ending Tuesday's round at 3-over and +6 over 54 holes.

Vanessa Betancourt was UCR's best team golfer on Tuesday, shooting a 2-over 74, followed by Nao Bando (T62) and Nicole Le (T72) both at 6-over in their third rounds, and Mylan Hirata, whose +7 Round 3 resulted in a tie for 58th overall.

The Highlanders return home to recalibrate and get set for the Big West Conference Championship April 19-21 at Yorba Linda Country Club.
