Highlander Elite Set to Compete in Elite Event

IRVINE, Calif – The UCR Highlander Distance and Middle Distance group will be taking a small group to the Sound Athletics College Distance Invitational on Friday night, April 2.

Andrew Jackson will be contesting his second-ever collegiate 800m race. Last time he covered 800m in 1:54.05, good enough to win the Ben Brown Invitational at Cal State Fullerton. His race will begin at 6:40pm.

Carolinh Calvert will be taking her second-ever attempt at 5000m. She debuted in 17:01.77 which has her eighth all-time on UCR's descending order list. The gun will sound to start her race at 7:10 pm.

Last of the trio will be Arman Irani. Irani will be contesting his first 10000m track race on Friday (he has run the 10k in cross country, but not a full race on the track oval). Already this season, Irani ran 14:11.71, which places him ninth all-time at UCR and last week he clocked a 3:52 1500m which was a 15-second personal best. His race will begin at 8:40 pm.
