UCR Athletics Updates Spectator Policy for Fall 2021 Sports

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – In gratitude for the unwavering support of the University, City of Riverside and greater Inland Empire communities throughout the pandemic and other challenges presented over the past year, UC Riverside Athletics is welcoming back fans to Highlander Athletics venues this fall with free admission to fall 2021 home events for men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball and cross country.

Adherence to safety and economic protocols prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic has enabled UCR Athletics to welcome Highlander teams back to the field and court for competition in 2021-22, and to do so along with their peers, friends, families and fans. 

All home indoor facilities (which includes the SRC Arena for Volleyball) and outdoor facilities (which include the UCR Soccer Stadium and UCR Agricultural Operations Cross Country Course) will adhere to UC Riverside's Campus Events and Gatherings Policy along with COVID-19 policies (which are subject to change at any point). 

To gain entrance into UCR Athletics venues this fall, spectators must adhere to the following COVID-19 safety precautions and guidelines (subject to change) which include:

Indoor events:

  • Will be held at 50% capacity.
  • Masks or face coverings must be worn by and are required for all individuals inside the venue.
  • Spectators and others attending must also complete the Visitors Daily Wellness Check on the same day as the event they are attending.
  • Adherence to staff requests for spectators to follow establish protocols established is required.
  • No outside food is permitted. Water and sports drinks only.

Outdoor events:

  • Outdoor events will be held at 100% capacity.
  • Spectators and others attending must also complete the Visitors Daily Wellness Check on the same day as the event they are attending.
  • Adherence to staff requests for spectators to follow protocols established (i.e., masking, social distancing, etc.)
  • No outside food is permitted. Water and sports drinks only.
