RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside women's basketball will begin the 2022-23 with a chip on its shoulder after being picked to finish seventh in Thursday's Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced as part of The Big West Women's Basketball Preview Show.Â
The full poll is listed below.Â
UCR earned 40 points in Thursday's poll with seven points separating the Highlanders in seventh, CSUN in eighth (36) and Cal State Fullerton in ninth (33).Â
The Highlanders will look to make another surprise statement in The Big West this season under third-year head coach Nicole Powell. UCR was picked eighth last year before a season-ending seven-game win streak vaulted UCR to a four seed at The Big West Championships.
UC Riverside women's basketball tips off on Thursday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m. for an exhibition game against Whittier before the regular season commences on November 7 in a return game with Pacific on ESPN+. Tickets for those and all UCR men's and women's basketball games are available now at highlanderstickets.universitytickets.com.Â
