STOCKTON, Calif. – UCR finished up day two at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Friday at the Stockton Country Club.
The Highlanders collectively shot a 569 after 36 holes, the team's lowest at the event since 573 in 2018-19.
Josh Hu vaulted into the top 30 in the leaderboard after a nearly bogey-free day, only going 1-over on the seventh hole. He was one of three Highlanders to card a birdie on two and one of three at 14, finishing the day with his third 69 of the fall season.
Mark Gao carded UC Riverside's second eagle in as many days, going 2-under on 16. Eric Cho shot the other eagle in Thursday's opening round. Hu and Gao both shot at or better their first round scores, going under par for round two.
Through 36 holes, UCR is tied for first in the 16-team leaderboard with a 4.47 average on par 5 scoring and Gao holds a tie for the individual lead with 4.00 in that category.
Just as in Thursday's second round, Cortez Herrera will ge the Highlanders going with a 9:24 tee time on the back nine to finish out UCR's trip to Northern California.
