Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside took a short break from Big West play on Friday afternoon to host Westmont, coming away with the 5-2 victory. 

The Highlanders swept doubles action before winning on four of six courts in singles play with all four wins coming in straight sets. 

Sydney Tran and Sofia Lazzaroni kicked off doubles play with a quick 6-2 win on court three before Mahli Silpachai and Hanh Pham faced a challenge on court one but came out with the 6-4 win. UCR capped the doubles sweep in dramatic fashion, as Natalie Shamma and Serina Saltzen battled for a 7-5 win. 

Westmont took a 1-0 lead in singles play after Mahli Silpachai's retirement on court one, but UCR stormed back with a quick 6-2, 6-0 win from Pham on court two. Lazzaroni (6-3, 6-0), Saltzen (6-2, 6-1) and Tran (6-2, 6-2) collected the remaining three singles wins to take the match for UC Riverside. 

UCR is back to Big West action on Saturday, February 12 at the SRC Tennis Courts to host Cal State Fullerton at 11:00 a.m.
