RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped its opening game of the USD Tournament on Friday at the USD Softball Complex, dropping a pitcher's duel in a 1-0 setback to Oregon State.

Moana Pisia extended her on-base streak to five games with a two-out single in the fifth inning that moved Burdette to third, but the Highlanders left runners on the corners in the inning.
Chrys Hildebrand and Maddie Heinlin combined to force the Beavers to go six up, six down in the fourth and fifth innings before a scoring threat in the sixth.
UCR is back for day two at the USD Tournament on Saturday, February 19 with a 2:00 p.m. first pitch against Iowa.
