Box Score LAS VEGAS, Nev. – UC Riverside started Tuesday's match at UNLV strong with the doubles point, but fell 6-1 to the Rebels at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The doubles win was the first in three weeks and fourth of the year.
Andreas Whelan-Merediz and
Ryan Huynh started the day with a 6-1 win on court three before
Daniel Velek and
Nolan McCaig solidified the point with an identical 6-1 result on one.
Velek is now 7-4 in doubles play after starting the season 1-3.
Justin Lamy tied up the afternoon's singles session at one with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six, but UNLV went on for the match win.
Andreas Whelan-Merediz almost went 2-0 on the day, falling 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) on court five.
UCR hosts Hope International on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:30 p.m. at the SRC Tennis Courts.
