Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside men's tennis dropped a close 4-3 match to Grand Canyon on Sunday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts.
Daniel Velek improved to 3-3 in doubles action, teaming up with Nolan McCaig for the first time all season for a dominating 6-1 win on court one. Joshua Roth and Antreas Djakouris faced a bit more adversity on court two, but pulled out the 7-6 (5) win for UCR's fifth doubles win of the year.
Antreas Djakouris kept his perfect singles record intact with a straight-set win on court one. Velek battled back from a loss in the second set to pick up the win in his first appearance on court three.
Roth faced another battle in singles play, but fell 7-6 (5), 4-6, 4-6 on court four.
UC Riverside is back in action on Monday, March 7 at UC San Diego.
