Box Score DAVIS, Calif. - UC Riverside came back from a doubles setback to storm past UC Davis on Thursday, 4-2, at the Marya Welch Tennis Center for UCR's first Big West win of the season.
Ryan Huynh and
Aarav Sane continued their doubles success with a 6-5 win on court three, and are now 3-1 in doubles competition this spring.
Daniel Velek made it back-to-back victories with a quick 6-3, 6-2 win on three;
Joshua Roth also picked up a straight-set win over the Aggies.
Justin Lamy's recent success continued, but not without a fight. Lamy went down a set to start on court six, but stormed back for a tiebreaker win in set two before winning his fourth singles match in his last five with a 6-3 decision in set three.
Andreas Whelan-Merediz picked up UCR's fourth singles win, pulling out a 7-6 (4) first set on four before finishing the job in set two.
UC Riverside returns to the SRC Tennis Courts on Monday, April 18 for a 2:00 p.m. Senior Day match with UC Santa Barbara on ESPN+.
