Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside made quick work of Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Saturday morning at the SRC Tennis Courts with a 6-1 win that included all three doubles matches going the Highlanders' way.
UCR is now victorious in three of its last five matches.
Daniel Velek and
Nolan McCaig returned to winning ways, improving to 7-1 in doubles action with a 6-4 win on court one. Velek improved to 9-5 in singles play with a 6-4, 6-1 on court two, one of UCR's five straight-set wins on the day. McCaig picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win on one to move to 3-7 for his first singles win since March 30.
The freshman duo of
Ryan Huynh and
Aarav Sane teamed up for the first time all season, clinching the Highlanders' first doubles point since March 30 with a 6-4 win on court three.
Sane also picked up a win in his return to the singles lineup, grabbing the 6-4, 6-2 victory on court six.
UC Riverside will resume Big West action on Monday, April 11 to host Hawaii at 2:00 p.m. at the SRC Tennis Courts.
