RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside and UC Irvine resumed a three-game series at the Riverside Sports Complex on Saturday night with a 14-4 win for UCI.
Taylor Juline eliminated the no-hitter for the Anteaters in the second inning with a single belted up the middle.
Jeremiah Priddy picked off the Anteater runner at first, and later in the night, UCR's outfield came up with the double play. With one out, Jacob Badawi recorded the routine flyout and gunned it back to Andrez Melendrez at second, who went to Joey Nicolai for the double play.
The Highlanders plated their four runs in the bottom of the ninth two outs on singles from Dylan Orick and Joey Nicolai. Danny Carnazzo brought two runs home on a single up the middle, the third hit of the night by a UCR catcher.
UCR and UCI will complete the three-game series on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. first pitch from the Riverside Baseball Complex on ESPN+.
