LONG BEACH, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped the second part of a three-game series at Long Beach State with an 11-4 decision on Saturday afternoon at Blair Field.
Andrew Rivas went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs, including a one-out single in the ninth that scored Danny Carnazzo from second.Â
Anthony McFarland picked up the Highlanders' first hit of the game in the fifth inning. Carnazzo and Jacob Shanks walked on back-to-back plate appearances, then Rivas reached on a fielder's choice to score McFarland from 90 feet away.Â
Jeremiah Priddy went 4.2 innings and matched a season high with six strikeouts. The senior from Corona has now fanned six batters in two of his last four outings.Â
UCR will try to salvage a win in the series when the two meet for the series finale at 1 p.m. on Mother's Day.Â
