RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside softball executed a fitting end to the 2022 home season on Sunday at Amy S. Harrison Field, run ruling UC Santa Barbara 8-0. 

For the Highlanders, the Mother's Day run rule victory secured a fifth Big West series win this season and the third straight. 

Nadia Witt went 3 for 3 in her final home game with a pair of RBIs, including the game-winning single in the fifth inning for UCR's eighth run. Witt was one of seven seniors celebrated on Sunday, joining Haylee Kela, Chrys Hildebrand, Moana Pisia, Megas Casper, Katie Barbarick and Jantzen Owen. 

Witt capped off a five-run first inning for the Highlanders with a single to left that scored Owen. UCR started the frame with walks in four of their first five plate appearances, with the final two bringing home the game's first two runs. 

Kela went 2 for 2 in her final home game with a run and an RBI, singling through the left side in the third inning for a 7-0 lead. 

Hildebrand went 4.2 innings in her final home game and earned her 11th win of the season before Barbarick entered to shut the door. 

UCR is on the road for one more series in the 2022 regular season, traveling to CSU Bakersfield on May 13 and 14.
