Boise, Idaho - Alexandra Hargrave had her third goal involvement in as many games this season, but UC Riverside suffered its first defeat of the season in a 4-1 decision to Boise State at the Boas Soccer Complex in Boise. 

UCR was unable to capitalize on two early free kicks from Daphane Mendez, but Caela Kaio came up big on the other side of the pitch with two early saves in the first 18 minutes of play. UC Riverside ultimately had three set piece chances before Boise State opened the scoring in the 21st minute. 

UC Riverside started putting the pressure on ten minutes into the second half with two corner kicks and four throw ins in successive fashion. UCR had all six of their corner kicks awarded in the final 45 minutes. 

Mendez had a shot blocked in the 55th minute before Hargrave pulled one back for the Highlanders in the 58th, going top shelf with her off her right foot to eliminate the shutout. 

UCR returns home to host a pair of Utah schools in Utah State and Weber State, beginning with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with Utah State on Thursday, September 1.
