Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside opened the 2023 home campaign on Thursday morning at the SRC Tennis Courts, winning two singles matches but falling, 4-2, to Sacramento State. 

Daniel Velek and Ryan Huynh teamed up on court two for doubles play, but when unfinished tied at 3-3 when the Hornets had claimed the morning's first advantage. 

UCR came back stronger in singles play with wins from Joshua Roth and Aarav Sane. Roth battled back from an 0-1 deficit while Sane was tested on court six before taking the straight-set win. 

The Highlanders are back in action with their third match in as many days on Friday, January 20 with a 5:30 p.m. first serve at Oregon.
