RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside made a pit stop back at the SRC Arena in the midst of a road trip, falling 60-48 to UC Davis on Thursday evening.
UC Riverside took a slow start to catch up with the Aggies' quick pace, but ultimately found their footing with just a three-point deficit after the first quarter. UC Davis retook control with an 8-0 run in the second quarter that re-established their control, as the Highlanders went into the locker room with a 30-19 halftime deficit.
UCR whittled the deficit down to single digits at the end of the third quarter after making three of four field goals to end the quarter. RyAnne Walters had a streak of her own at the turn of the quarter, going 4 for 4 from the floor at the end of the third.
Walters finished her evening with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting, while Jordan Webster took time to warm up offensively but still finished with a game-high 15 points.
UC Riverside goes back on the road to the islands, traveling to Hawaii on Saturday, January 21 for a 10:00 p.m. matchup from the Stan Sheriff Center.
